Pied
Pied – Today’s word is inspired by the little black and white Whippet called Pie that appears in ‘The Garden of Promises and Lies’. Tigerlily would be very jealous that she is not word of the week but another whippet is! Pied can also be referring to a type of clothing pattern that has patches of different colours on it. This is much the style that Mum wears from time to time. What is your favourite outfit of hers?
Origins – Having patches of two or more colours, as various birds and other animals: a pied horse. Also wearing pied clothing.
